He notes that she is shaking and that he has never seen her call that powerful before. When Michael informs her about the blood, she awakens, still struggling to regain her breath. Ben arrives at Eureka and rushes to his feet after receiving a call from Vance regarding Carl (thanks to Olivia, he no longer wears an ankle bracelet). Carl claims to have a calling. He needed to come. Grace attempts to let him go, but Carl is determined to reclaim his calling. Grace informs him that she has heard about it and that they can discuss it at home.
Carl expresses his desire to remain and shows them the revised tail fin design with the black paint surrounding it. Carl tells his parents that if they do not intervene, something terrible will occur. Dr. Gupta arrives and considers how risky it is. Carl claims he has no idea, but he is certain it will not happen again. Dr. Gupta attempts to learn more, but Grace claims she doesn’t speak to anyone there. She informs Cal that they are going to work together at home. Carl starts trembling, clutches his shoulder, and pokes his scorched belly out. He informed them that he had been summoned.
It appears to be completely different. When Carl explains that her wounds were small at first, Sunvi discovers that the cries are shifting and that they began when the tail fin resurfaced. Grace wants to take Cole to the New York press, but Carl objects since the other physicians don’t comprehend what’s going on with her. Dr. Gupta concurs with him. Grace offers to contact Sunvi to have her leg repaired, but Vance informs her that Sunvi is no longer working with her. Grace says that Sunvi is the only doctor who will treat her, or else they will leave.
Sarah and Jared talk about how to open Katherine’s safe. They agree to stay open late. Ben contacts Michaela to inform her that Sunvi had checked in on Carl.
